Katie Mawson

Hi my name is Katie and I was born and raised in New Plymouth, Taranaki. 

I moved to Taupo with my family in 2010, for my husband’s job. When we moved our son Sam was 2 and our daughter Nicole was 6 weeks which was a challenge within itself.   

I have always loved children and knew I wanted to pursue a career in Early Childhood from a young age. After completing my Diploma in 2004 and working in a centre for a few years I left to spend some time in an Accounting firm learning all about the financial side of a business. 

I have always loved home based care, with my son attending in New Plymouth and then becoming an Educator myself in Taupo. Now I look forward to taking on the role of visiting teacher for PAUA. 

I am really looking forward to meeting all the families and children of PAUA as well as the Educators. I think it is something special to be involved in a person’s learning journey.
