Melissa Johnston
My name is Melissa Johnston. I live in Palmerston North and have two children. My son Tyler is 11 years old and Emma is my daughter who is 9 years old.
Early childhood education has been my passion for a number of years. I have worked in a pre-school for 5years and also I tutored Early Childhood Education at Awatapu College. At the begining of the year I decided to become an home based Educator. What an incredible experience it turned out to be! The numerous amount of learning for children that emerges in a home amazed me.
My role as a Visting Teacher is to encourage and support Educators to have meaningful positive relationship with their families. Motivating and inspiring Educators so they can appreciate the importance of noticing and recognising children’s interests so they can further extend and respond effectively to their needs.
