Brenda Cooper
My name is Brenda and I work for PAUA Early Childhood as a Visiting Teacher. This role means I am responsible for a case load of children, at the present time covering the area Featherston to Napier. I am also a Regional team Leader with Visiting Teachers based in Pahiatua, Woodville and Waipukurau and I also have the role of Senior Regional team Leader which means I cover for Raewyn as second in charge should she not be available.
I am married and have two teenage sons at home as well as an older son, daughter in law and lovely wee Grand daughter who live within an easy commute. Our home has many animals and birds that are also considered part of our family.
I have always had a passion for young children, starting off babysitting quite early, working in a childcare centre and then beginning my Kindergarten Diploma quite a number of years ago.
Over my career I have been a Kindergarten teacher, Head teacher and Senior Teacher, I have worked for REAP as a visiting Early Childhood Teacher to rural Playgroups and also been a Playcentre Supervisor. My eldest son was in private home based care and I have also worked for a number of years as an Educator. Having walked both sides of the line my current position really feels right, it is a great match to my philosophy and PAUA is a company with all the right ethics.
My mission in life is to ‘Walk the PAUA walk, talk the PAUA talk’ and above all else try to do the best for the future of New Zealand-our children!
I look forward to meeting you on this wonderful journey we are all on...
