"Fantastic resources, amazing feedback, and lots of opportunities for our children to grow and progress."

Leanne Chapman

Hi, my name is Leanne, and I am a Visiting Teacher for PAUA in Wanganui.

I was born in Hamilton but grew up in Bell Block, a little place just north of New Plymouth.

Growing up I always wanted to work with children and when I was old enough I had many weekend and holiday jobs looking after children of various ages. I left school and began a career in office work, which I also wanted to do.

A few years later I met my husband, Richard. When we got married we moved to Hawera where we spent our first few years together. We now live in Wanganui and have three beautiful children, Rachael, Amy and Ben.

Several years after having my own children and being involved in their ‘Early Learning’ an opportunity arose for me to begin my Early Childhood Studies. In 2005 I graduated, having completed my Diploma in Early Childhood Teaching. During this time I worked in a crèche alongside two-three year olds. Following this, I worked in a centre with children aged between zero-five years, which I really enjoyed.

In July 2009 I joined PAUA Early Childhood Home Based Care. I am really enjoying being part of the PAUA Team and working alongside and supporting the wonderful Educators, and their PAUA children and families.

Children are a wonderful gift and it is such a privilege to be a part of their lives and have the opportunity to be involved in their learning journey.

I look forward to getting to know you and your family.
