Tiffani Field

Hi my name is Tiffani Field and I am born and bred in Christchurch.

I am married to the wonderful Jake and have 2 daughters Carissa who is 23 years old and Rhianna who is 14 years old; we are also whanau caregivers for Tamara who is 11 years old. We have two dogs Max and Frog and a cat called Kitten.

I began my journey in early childhood education working voluntary for a local kindergarten many moons ago. The kindergarten had a special needs unit attached to it and I mostly worked in the unit alongside an Early Intervention Teacher. I discovered I had a real passion for working alongside children who had special needs that were under 5 years old. I decided to study for a degree in early childhood education. While studying full time I also worked part time for Group Special Education across all their teams as an Educational Support Worker for over 7 years. After gaining my degree BTch Ln I worked in a community preschool for several years while also gaining an Early Intervention Diploma and Higher diploma in teaching. At this time I also worked as an education support worker for CCS Disability Action. I then moved on to another community setting who worked alongside young mums and their pepis, it was here that I helped establish their community preschool and nursery. For the last 4 years I have been working as a preschool and Nursery supervisor in private settings while also gaining a certificate in child protection.

I began to miss the contact I had with whanau and children that I had when I was working in community settings and in children’s homes so re planned my career path. I am a child advocate who believes in quality care for children and I feel home based care provides a stronger basis for quality learning and development for nga tamariki. I am excited to be part of the PAUA team in Christchurch and am looking forward to working alongside you and your children.
